HealthTrust Europe introduces the ability to price check maintenance service contracts for the first time in seven years

60-70% of NHS Trusts' Managed Maintenance Service (MMS) contracts need to be renewed and in place by 1st April.

Previously, due to lengthy OJEU processes a market comparison on cost has never been an option.

But now, group purchasing organisation, HealthTrust Europe is providing a process whereby price comparisons can be made and costs validated - for the first time in this area.

With all Trusts facing huge cost saving targets on procurement, the ability to compare price and service as well as take advantage of reduced costings is essential.

MMS contracts are typically an annual contract and up until now there has been no way to test the market.

Jonathan Wedgbury, Chief Executive of HealthTrust Europe, comments: 'This is not just a sales pitch from us, this is us providing an alternative way in which Trusts have historically contracted for MMS. This opportunity opens the door for Trusts to benefit from a better service and make savings at a time when getting best value is a top priority'.
