Contract Overview
HealthTrust Europe (HTE’s)’s Framework agreement for Anatomical Pathology Automation offers a simple and compliant route to market for the procurement of all equipment to enhance efficiency, traceability, and quality in pathology laboratories. The scope includes standalone systems and integrated solutions for tissue block facing, slide preparation, embedding, block storage, and transportation. The equipment and systems supplied under this Framework Agreement shall enable Participating Authorities to implement partial or comprehensive automation of anatomical
pathology workflows, improving efficiency, reducing errors, and enhancing sample traceability.

Lot 1 – Automated Tissue Embedding Systems
• Innovative system able to automate the process of embedding tissue specimens in paraffin, creating tissue blocks and all associated services.
Lot 2 – Tissue Block Facing Systems
• Innovative systems able to provide automated facing of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue blocks and all associated services.
Lot 3 – Automated Slide Preparation Systems
• Innovative systems able to automate the process of sectioning paraffin blocks and mounting tissue sections onto glass slides and all associated services.
Lot 4 – Storage and Archiving Systems (for both blocks and slides)
• Innovative system able to provide storage and retrieval of histological specimens, including FFPE tissue blocks and microscope slides and all associated services.
Lot 5 – Block Transportation Systems
• Innovative system able to automate transport of FFPE blocks between laboratory workstations including embedding, microtomy, and storage areas and all associated services.
Lot 6 – Aggregated Lot
• Enables suppliers to combine multiple service lots under one agreement appropriate to the Lots they are awarded to, giving Participating Authorities convenient access to a broad range of services from a single supplier.

Our Framework Agreement provides access to our customers to
pre-approved service providers via mini competition or direct
award. HTE can support customers with the development of the
Call for Competition Bid Pack and specification to issue to awarded
suppliers.

The team can support in the compliant direct award process where appropriate.
Alternatively, if further competition is required HTE can provide templated documentation for customers to run the competition themselves via their systems or HTE can run the competition via their systems and provide support throughout the entire process into contract award. This is all accessible upon signature of a Customer Access Agreement (CAA).
