Pharmacy Homecare Delivery Services

HealthTrust Europe’s framework agreement for the supply of Pharmacy Homecare Delivery Services covers requirements for the provision of low, mid and high-tech services including dispensing, delivery and nursing options.

The framework is set out into 3 areas – Low, Mid and High-Tech Homecare Services:

  • Low Tech Services – include Delivery and Dispensing of medicines. This also includes self-administration of medicines and the option for patients to store medicines in their own fridge.
  • Mid Tech Services – include patient training and competency assessment relating to self-administration needing basic aseptic technique and standard ancillaries e.g., medicines in pre-filled syringes with special storage requirements. This also includes the provision of refrigeration equipment to the patients` home.
  • High Tech Services – include administration by healthcare professionals and patient requirement of portable equipment such as medical fridges. The lot also covers the provision of appropriately trained nurses and healthcare professionals as well as chemotherapy compounding and cancer care.

This is a multi supplier framework with 10 suppliers. All awarded suppliers comply with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Professional Standards for Homecare Services in England, published 2013.

Suppliers will work together in partnership with Participating Authorities to ensure patient safety, patient satisfaction and best possible clinical outcomes.
